The Brisbane Brazilian Carnival is ready to shake things up!

A street party like no other is coming to Brisbane this July where you’ll be transported to the party atmosphere of Brazil.

Complete with a brilliantly vibrant street parade and an after party that is bound to excite, this event is perfect for those after a day of dancing and fun.

Established and put together by Unidos de Brisbane, this carnival is in its 4th year and will see samba dancers from across Australia joining a parade of vividly bright costumes and amazing musical sets.

On July 7th, this carnival (think a smaller version of Rio’s iconic festival) will dance its way into Fortitude Valley where you’ll be blown away by the intoxicating atmosphere that is sure to have you up and dancing.

After the parade, make your way to the Australasian Samba Queen Competition to see the best of the best dance their heart out at Cloudland. If that’s not enough, stick around for the energetic afterparty where band Samba Brissy will keep you entertained till the night’s end.

FORTITUDE VALLEY

Fortitude Valley, known to the locals as simply ‘The Valley’ has been one of Australia’s premier entertainment districts from day one. Here you’ll find a mix of cultures offering up the very best in fusion food and quirky cafes that has got you covered no matter what time of the day it is.

The Valley is sophisticated, edgy and a little bit off-centre in its layout. You see, it has a little bit of everything. Chinatown calls The Valley it’s home in a complex layout of traditional eateries and storefronts, whilst inner city vibes and a European atmosphere will have you shopping at the lushly green James St. shopping precinct. If it’s the arts that strikes your fancy, the Judith Wright Centre is where you can catch a show whether it be a trip to the circus or a dance performance.
